The Champions League last 16 will be drawn for a SECOND time after a technical glitch.
UEFA said an issue with an external service provider was to blame and have declared the first set of fixtures null and void.
A second draw will now be held at 2pm UK time after the embarrassing mishap for European football’s governing body.
It came after Manchester United were wrongly drawn against Villarreal, who they faced in the group stage, before being left out of the pot when Atletico Madrid discovered their opponents following the mistake.
Atleti revealed they were asking for “explanations and a solution” after being handed a tricky tie against German champions Bayern Munich.
It then had a knock-on effect on the five ties still to be decided.
The original draw saw United paired with Paris Saint-Germain in a game that would have pitted Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi against each other once again.
It had ended favourably for the other Premier League clubs as City were paired with Villarreal, Chelsea against Lille and Liverpool with FC Salzburg.
