Cardi B, the US rapper, has confirmed her separation from Offset, her husband, after six years of marriage.
Rumours about the estranged couple’s divorce began circulating last week after Cardi B unfollowed Offset on Instagram.
She also shared cryptic posts about outgrowing relationships.
The speculations were further fueled by a recent claim from Blueface, the rapper, of an affair between Offset and Chrisean Rock, his baby mama.
Offset, however, denied the allegations in a post via X.
He wrote, “I ain’t never talk or touch that lady. Real talk man you need some help!”
During an Instagram live session on Monday, Cardi B revealed that she and Offset have been single for a minute now.
The rapper said she initially hesitated to make the announcement public.
She added that she had hinted at the separation through her music and social media activity.
When it comes to events and stuff, I do not think it is true, I do not care to find out because I have been single for a minute now,” she said.
But I have been afraid…not afraid, I just do not know how to tell the world. The last time I went on live, I kinda wanted to tell you guys, but I did not know how to tell you so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now.
Cardi B and Offset tied the knot at a low-key event in 2017.
They welcomed their first child, Kulture, in 2018 and their second child, Wave, in 2021.
Their union came under threat in 2020 after Cardi B filed for divorce over allegations of infidelity. They eventually reconciled.
In June, Offset accused Cardi B of infidelity, claiming she had sex with another man.
Reacting to his allegation, Cardi B told Offset to stop “acting stupid”.
She said she could not be sexually involved with any average man in the music industry because they would reveal her secrets.
