Manchester United booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 3-2 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Changes were made by both coaches ahead of a midweek of Premier League fixtures, but there were still plenty of star players involved from the start.
Mohamed Salah was one of them, putting Liverpool in front with a smart dink over Dean Henderson.
United hit back, though, and turned the game on its head with goals from Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford either side of the break.
It wasn’t long before Salah snuck in an equaliser and, with the introduction of Sadio Mane off the bench, Jurgen Klopp went for the kill.
However, it was the hosts who edged the contest, Bruno Fernandes curling in a free kick just over 10 minutes from time.
Edinson Cavani almost added a fourth goal for the Red Devils, but he could only guide Fernandes‘ cross into the foot of the post.
The defeat caps a pretty disappointing week for Liverpool, who were held by United at Anfield last weekend and beaten at home by Burnley on Thursday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side will play West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
