The alleged killer of 24-year-old UCLA graduate Brianna Kupfer has been identified as Shawn Laval Smith, 31, who according to LAPD is armed and dangerous.

According to a Fox News Digital report Smith has a rap sheet that includes several felonies in California and South Carolina and according to Los Angeles County Jail records he was arrested on October 27, 2020 by Covina Police for a misdemeanor and was later released after posting bail.
A UCLA graduate student was fatally stabbed by a maniac while working as a consultant at a high-end furniture store in Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Brianna Kupfer, 24, was working at Croft House on North La Brea Avenue around 1:50 p.m. on Jan. 13 when a man entered and stabbed her to death.
The architectural design student from Pacific Palisades was found out 20 minutes later by another customer. By the time police arrived at the scene, she was already dead.
Brianna, who was a graduate of Brentwood High School, had been working as a design consultant at the high-end furniture store popular with celebrities like Mandy Moore, according to Architectural Digest.
Kupfer’s father slammed local politicians as too lenient
Kupfer’s father said Brianna had been set to fly out to New York late Thursday evening to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
“She always wanted to make sure everyone around her was having a good time,” he said in a tearful interview with The Post on Monday.
Over the weekend, LA officials announced a nearly 12 percent jump in homicides in 2021 from the year prior.
