President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelenski has met with different heads of state during these days in efforts to ask for their support during the gruesome war that they are facing against the country commanded by Vladimir Putin.
After his interview with the Associated Press which was held in a secured location filled with sandbags, and heavily armed military troops, Zelenki commented that he was looking for peace because “We have to fight, but fight for life. You can’t fight for dust when there is nothing and no people. That’s why it is important to stop this war,”.
He mentions that the military aid he’s receiving from the US and the UK is not enough, not yet.
Speaking on behalf of the temperature of the war he also mentioned that the fight of Mariupol was “the heart of the war” and that “It’s beating. We’re fighting. We’re strong. And if it stops beating, we will be in a weaker position,” he said.
He hopes for peace, but he also mentions that he has to be “realistic” that based on the current state of negotiations a quick resolution is not likely. Both the U.S., EU, and the UK issued stronger sanctions after the images of Bucha.

The Ukrainian President met with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Before they met, PM Johnson has repeatedly said Zelenski has the support of the United Kingdom. Once in Kyiv, he reiterated the UK’s “long-term support” while also saying that he will receive new military aid including 120 armored vehicles and anti-ship missile systems. Also, 100 million pounds ($130 million) of military equipment so they could defend themselves from the Russians.
Furthermore, he mentioned that economic support is guaranteed in the form of a World Bank loan of $500 million with the possibility of lending $1 billion.
