Atletico Madrid are reportedly targeting Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez for a summer transfer as they look to bolster their attacking options for next season.
After a promising start to the campaign, Diego Simeone’s side have seen their form dip, exposing their lack of depth upfront. With Angel Correa expected to leave after the Club World Cup, Atletico are keen on signing Nunez to add firepower to their squad, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Nunez has struggled to establish himself under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, slipping down the pecking order amid inconsistent performances. Eager to revive his career, the Uruguayan is said to be open to a move, with Nottingham Forest also expressing interest.
Liverpool are reportedly willing to sell the 24-year-old for around €45 million (£38 million), a significant drop from the €75 million they paid Benfica in 2022.
