Directed by Omotola Oke and Anjola Aluko, and penned by Winner Achimugu, the gripping drama Gone has earned a nomination for Best MultiChoice Talent Factory Film at the upcoming 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Set against a backdrop of mystery and emotional tension, the film follows Damola Akinola, who has received anonymous birthday gifts and letters from his missing father every year. But on his 25th birthday, a chilling discovery a skeleton in the family’s septic tank sets off a police investigation led by Detective Christie Obi, played with intensity and depth by Teniola Aladese.
As the investigation unfolds, dark family secrets come to light, threatening to rip the Akinola family apart.
Speaking on Aladese’s performance, producer Izzy Besta shared:
“We knew we needed someone with incredible range to play Christie Obi… Teniola didn’t just play the role; she transformed it.”
Featuring a standout cast including Paul Nnadiekwe, Kelechi Udegbe, and Tolu Odewumi, Gone has become a standout contender ahead of the AMVCA 2024, set to take place this May at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.
