Adama Traore the best dribbler in Europe… and he’s light years ahead of the next best

Wolverhampton Wanderers might not be having the best start to their season – but they do at least have the best dribbler in Europe in their ranks.

No prizes for guessing that it’s man-mountain Adama Traore that tops this particular category at this juncture of the season.

Light years ahead of the next best
According to Opta, the Spaniard’s dribbling attempts stand at 59 – with 49 completed – which far beyond anyone else, such as Kylian Mbappe (20 of 42), Vinicius Junior (20 of 42) and Sofiane Boufal (19 of 42).

And of anyone with more than 15 dribbles, only West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen (83.33 percent) has a better success rate than Adama (83.05 percent), with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba at 80 percent.

But these dribbles have not translated into end product for Adama this term yet, with the 25-year-old not having recorded any goals or assists.

Nevertheless, Wolves boss Bruno Lage is not worried and is delighted to have the powerful winger in his ranks.

“Everyone talks about finishing chances, but it’s not only about that,” the Portuguese coach said.

Traore is creating a lot of chances, helping us a lot with our pressing, and winning a lot of fouls.

“We need to protect the top players and Adama is one of those.”
