Victor Osimhen Agrees ‘In Principle’ to Join Manchester United in €75m Summer Move

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly edging closer to a long-awaited Premier League switch, as Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle to sign the in-form forward this summer.

According to Tuttosport, United are now ready to trigger the €75 million (£64m/$86m) release clause in Osimhen’s contract, bringing him to Old Trafford in a blockbuster deal. The move comes after Osimhen’s spectacular loan spell at Galatasaray, where he’s lit up the Turkish Super Lig with 30 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions.

Last summer, the 26-year-old was linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea, but Napoli’s high asking price and deteriorating relations with the striker ultimately saw him shipped off to Turkey on a season-long loan. Galatasaray are keen to keep him permanently, but United’s ambition may now tilt the scales.

Interestingly, the deal may include Rasmus Hojlund heading the other way. The Danish striker has had a disappointing season at United, scoring just 8 goals in 45 matches, and a swap could help balance the books while also refreshing both clubs’ attacking options.

With Manchester United languishing in 14th place and under immense pressure to rebuild, coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly backing the Osimhen transfer as a key step in reviving the club’s fortunes.

Osimhen’s move to Old Trafford could mark one of the most significant Premier League transfers of the summer and a major moment for Nigerian football on the global stage.
