Nigerian music sensation Fireboy DML has shared rare personal insights about his love life, revealing he’s never experienced heartbreak and he’s in no hurry to.
During a candid chat on the 90s Baby Show, the Playboy hitmaker admitted that he once thought about going through heartbreak “just for the experience,” but quickly changed his mind.
“I wanted to experience heartbreak but I didn’t want anymore. Not at this age. I think it would ruin me,” said the 29-year-old.
To better understand heartbreak, Fireboy said he reached out to women he had been involved with in the past, asking about their emotional experiences.
“What I heard was not nice,” he confessed.
The singer also shared his theory that “we break our own hearts,” saying most heartbreaks come from ignoring red flags or gut instincts early on.
“There were some points when you saw the signs… but then the heart wants what it wants,” he reflected.
Calling heartbreak a “very painful experience,” Fireboy said he’s not willing to take that risk right now, especially at this stage of his career and personal growth.
With love taking a back seat, it seems Fireboy is focused on preserving his peace—and his pen game.
