Man United CEO’s Comments Hint at Criticism of Erik ten Hag

Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada has seemingly taken a dig at former manager Erik ten Hag, praising current boss Ruben Amorim for having a “clear idea” of how he wants to play at Old Trafford.

Speaking to The Athletic, Berrada emphasized Amorim’s tactical vision, suggesting that the club is now on a more defined path:

📢 “I think it’s riskier if you have a coach that doesn’t have a clear idea of how he wants to play. And with Ruben, we don’t see that risk.”

United’s Struggles Continue Despite New Vision

Despite Berrada’s confidence, United is currently 14th in the Premier League, raising concerns over whether Amorim’s style is yielding results. With no Champions League football next season looking likely, United may need to win the Europa League to attract top-tier talent.

Berrada confirmed that United’s recruitment strategy will focus on bringing in versatile, adaptable players who fit Amorim’s vision of a possession-based, attacking style.

⚽ United face Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie on Thursday, with the aggregate score at 1-1.

Is Amorim the right man to turn United’s fortunes around? 🤔
