Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has compared Wharton’s rapid rise to that of Jude Bellingham, highlighting how well the 21-year-old has adapted to the Premier League since his £22 million transfer from Blackburn Rovers in early 2024. Reports suggest that the La Liga giants are now plotting a move for the England international, with a potential £70 million price tag being discussed.
Prutton praised Wharton’s impressive start at Palace, stating:
