Gunmen kidnapped two students of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, late Tuesday night outside the campus, causing panic among students.

A student of the institution, Ashar Lubem, claimed that four students were taken, but the Benue State Police Command confirmed only two abductions.
“We received the information yesterday evening that two students were kidnapped. We have commenced an investigation, and further details will be provided soon,” said the Police Public Relations Officer, Sewuese Anene.
The incident has heightened fear among students, as many remain on edge over security concerns.
