Nollywood star Adesua Etomi-Wellington has opened up about the toughest year of her life, revealing shocking details about her medical struggles in 2024 and how her husband, Banky W, had to undergo another cancer surgery during the same period.
In an emotional birthday post on February 22, Adesua recounted how she battled hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe pregnancy-related condition that left her hospitalized for months. Amid her health crisis, she received the heartbreaking news that her husband needed urgent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.
The actress revealed she also had to undergo an emergency C-section, narrowly escaping another life-threatening situation.
“2024 really tried to take the wind out of my sail, from being sick for months to watching the love of my life undergo surgery, and then facing an emergency C-section and a harrowing healing process. It was a lot!” she wrote.
Despite the storm, Adesua expressed deep gratitude to her doctors in Lagos and Washington, DC, her incredible husband, and everyone who supported her through the challenging year.
