Taylor Swift and Jessica Chastain have been friends for more than 12 years after they coincided at the 2011 Met Gala and immediately hit it off.
During the event, Chastain opened up about how she’d been going through a bad breakup and spent the night having fun. After Gala, Taylor sent Chastain a breakup playlist that helped her feel better.

Jessica Chastain opened up about the encounter with Jimmy Fallon during The Tonight Show “We were both sitting next to each other … and she was so sweet, I just went through a break-up and I was talking to her about that, and we went and danced together – it was such a fun night.“
She continued “And then the next day, I had an email from iTunes that said, like, ‘Taylor Swift’ or whatever, and I just thought that it was a Taylor Swift album, but she had made me a break-up playlist that she sent me! Isn’t that the sweetest thing?”
Jimmy Fallon, who is a big Taylor Swift fan could not believe what he was hearing “What are you kidding me? That’s unbelievable!”
Chastain elaborated “I know! And here I thought it was like a Taylor Swift advertisement, and she had, like, curated all these break-up songs to send me to help me get through my break-up.

Ever since that encounter, they cemented their friendship and they get together every time they can, as they did during the “Eras Tour” in Mexico City.
Jimmy Fallon showed a backstage picture of Jessica Chastain with Taylor Swift and Jessica elaborated “This is my assistant Ali and she is like, obsessed with Taylor Swift and it was like the best day of her life. And I met Taylor, she’s actually really sweet,” she concluded.
