AC Milan has officially signed Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal in a deal worth circa €28m including add-ons, putting pen to paper until 2028.
The Nigerian striker arrived yesterday for his medical tests and passed them with flying colors, signing the five-year contract today.
A statement from the Rossoneri confirmed that Chukwueze has chosen the Number 21 jersey for this season at San Siro.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and others, the deal was struck for €20m plus up to another €8m in various add-ons and performance-related bonuses.
In turn, Milan have also loaned defender Matteo Gabbia to Villarreal for one season, without an option to buy.
The original Villarreal asking price for Chukwueze had been circa €35m and the 24-year-old plays primarily on the right side of attack, so represents a mirror to Rafael Leao on the left.
He scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 50 competitive appearances for Villarreal last season.
