Ryan Giggs has been sued by his ex-partner Kate Greville for assault and coercive behaviour, with their trial entering its fourth day.
Those who attended it were surprised with the defendant’s admission that she lied about having cancer during one period of their relationship.
The defence lawyer argued that Greville pretended she had cancer to remove her intrauterine device (IUD) but denied a secret plot to get pregnant by the former Manchester United footballer.
Meanwhile, The Sun reported that Greville claimed she lied to Giggs about having cancerous cells detected in a smear test because she “wanted to get him off my back”.

Giggs’ ex-partner alleged that the former footballer had cheated on her with up to a dozen women.
“Basically, I found a load of s**t before I told him and kept it to myself,” Greville said.
“I found he had been cheating on me for the last six years with ten or 12 women.
Every time I found something it got worse, I found his iPad, kept it all to myself for two weeks.
“I felt like I was losing my mind. I was having panic attacks. It was a horrific time for me.”
