Netherlands repeat late heroics against Wales

It was a case of history repeated between Netherlands and Wales, as the Dutch responded to a late leveller with an even later winner, just as they did in the recent meeting between the two.

In Cardiff on June 8, Wales equalised in injury time only to see Wout Weghorst head home a winner in almost the very next move and, crazily enough, a near-identical ending would transpire.

Noa Lang put the Dutch ahead with his first-ever senior international goal, before Cody Gakpo made it 2-0 soon after.

However, minutes later, Brennan Johnson made it 2-1 to gives Wales hope going into the second half.

Wales thought they had salvaged a point, again, as they were awarded a penalty in injury time, which Gareth Bale converted.

But they were to suffer heartbreak once again as Memphis Depay went on to score a winner in the next attack.
