Stanley Chibunna, the Nigerian comedian better known as Funnybone, has pleaded with Anthony Joshua not to fight with Tyson Fury.
The comedian spoke in a video posted recently on his verified Instagram page.
Funnybone cited how Fury knocked out Deontay Wilder in round 11 to retain his WBC heavyweight title and advised the British-Nigerian to “not listen to Fury, and don’t fight him.”
The humour merchant also advised Joshua, who lost his WBA, IBF, and WBO titles to Oleksandr Usyk in September, to simply defeat the Ukrainian at the rematch and not face the ‘Gypsy King’, no matter the temptation.
Good morning. I do not know if anybody has AJ, Anthony Joshua’s number. I want to quickly talk to him as a brother and a friend. AJ please, I hope you saw the fight last night. Our ‘Edo brother’ Wilder, you saw what happened to him. I said, let me beg you, please, you know you are our Ogun State brother too,” he said.
“Please, do not listen to Fury, don’t fight him. He is wicked. E dey find person to kill. Please, after you win this boy that won you the last time, collect your belt and come back to Ogun State, come to Lagos, and we will host you. No fight Fury o, e go whine you, but no fight am.”
Joshua is said to have triggered a rematch with Usyk but an official date hasn’t been announced yet.
