MI Abaga, Nigerian rapper and record producer, has taken to social media to celebrate his 40th birthday.
In several posts via his Instagram page on Monday, the award-winning musician appreciated those who have been supporting him over the years.
“40. Today I cross a personally joyful milestone: From henceforth, (the adages promise) life will begin,” he wrote.
“Without knowing it, that was my recent process to arrive here at this moment today. Shedding the old, and making way for the new.
I’m grateful for the walk here. I look around, locking eyes with all you who have refused to leave, adamant that I am worth the ride.
“And you are not wrong; but I am worth it because of you. If, for the road ahead, I can count on you.. then my friends… let us forge ahead!! Bring it on.. let life begin!!!”
Abaga also announced plans to celebrate his new age with a song, adding that he would release the project by 2022.
Anointed. The song is dropping 2022. Cut by me; captured by life,” he added in a separate post.
MI, whose real name is Jude Abaga, has established himself as a household name in the Nigerian music landscape with numerous awards and recognition.
The rapper had last year exited Chocolate City, a record label he joined in 2007, to form Incredible Music, his own music label.
