Ruth Eze, Nigerian actress and model popularly called Ruthy by friends, has announced the demise of her father.
The movie star broke the news in a terse post via her Instagram page on Sunday.
“RIP daddy. Lost my dad this morning,” she wrote alongside a photo of a candlelight in a dimly lit background.
The Delta-born actress from Imo state, however, did not disclose what led to her father’s demise.
The development comes about two years after she lost her elder sister, who died in August 2019.
It also further stretches the list of celebrities that have lost their father in the last month.
Aituaje Iruobe, Nigerian singer better known as Waje, had on Tuesday announced the death of her dad.
In July, Tiwa Savage, the award-winning singer, also lost her father.
Ruth started her acting career while in school and has established herself as a popular figure in the country’s movie industry since then.
She graduated from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) where she studied business administration.
She has featured in several hit movies including ‘Pregnant Hawkers’, ‘Painful Betrayal’, ‘Drop of Tears’ and ‘Audio Money’.
Ruth has also starred alongside other heavyweights in the movie landscape including Yul Edochie and Zubby Michael.
