Paris Saint-Germain have been the clear favourites to sign Leo Messi ever since it was announced that the Argentine would not continue at Barcelona.
However, Manchester United are looking to tempt the former Barcelona forward with a two-year deal which would see him earn 672,000 euros per week.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that the Red Devils are lining up an offer for Messi in an attempt to pip PSG to his signature.
All reports so far indicate that Messi is off to the Parc des Princes to play alongside international colleagues and former club teammates like Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes and Neymar.
Yet Manchester United have shown plenty of ambition this summer, bringing in Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
The addition of Messi to a forward line that contains the likes of Marcus Rashford, Sancho, Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes would form a fearsome side, yet whether United have left it too late remains to be seen.
