There has yet to be a winner declared in the United States presidential race, yet Joe Biden appears to be closing in on victory after an intense number of mail-in votes were counted since polls closed on Tuesday.
Donald Trump declared that he had won the election on Tuesday evening, despite the fact that all of the mail votes hadn’t yet been counted, and is intent on launching a legal battle on states which have raised suspicions of potential malpractice.
Triumph in Michigan and Wisconsin has taken former vice-president Biden nearer to the promised land of 270 Electoral votes, although there are several key states which are still in the balance before he can get there.
Arizona is a key area, with Biden having appeared close to flipping it from Republican to Democrat, although several news agencies called it in favour of Biden despite the fact there was over 20 percent of votes still to be counted.
In addition to Arizona, there is plenty of focus on Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina with results from those areas still yet to be confirmed.
Despite currently winning the popular vote and taking the most ever votes in an election in US history, Biden has yet to be put in a position where he can claim victory, although it is looking as though he is inching ever closer to that point as news emerges that his lead in Nevada has increased to around 11,800 votes.
