A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says the probe of the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, is targeted at Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and All Progressives Congress leader, Bola Tinubu, for the last four years.
Fani-Kayode said this in a Facebook post on Sunday while reacting to the probe of Magu.
The former minister said Magu had been serving the interest of Osinbajo and Tinubu for the last four years.
He wrote, “What is happening to Magu today was planned years ago. The real target is not Magu but those he worked for and protected for the last four years. He never worked for Buhari. He worked for Tinubu and Osinbajo. When they finish crushing him, they will move against the two godfathers.”
Magu, who has been detained for nearly a week, is being probed by a Presidential panel led by a former President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami (retd.).
During the week, there were allegations that Magu told the panel that he gave Osinbajo N4bn.
The Vice-President has, however, denied the allegations.
Also, there have been reports that some allies of the President are out to frustrate the purported Presidential ambition of Tinubu ahead of 2023.
